OUR STORY

Founded by two seasoned film photographers Margaret Wroblewski & Caitlin Taylor who wanted a more tangible solution to the questions, needs, and even the serendipitous meetings that lead to lifelong friendships.

They created this community to fill a need they both have experienced in their wedding photography careers. The feeling of isolation drove them to create this community where film photographers can come together and inspire one another with their dreams, photography and learn together.

More than just a film community; we offer a space where artistry and passionate wedding photographers thrive. We’re bringing opportunities to the table for photographers to grow in their craft and build bridges between film photographers worldwide.

Margaret Wroblewski is an American photographer who focuses on creating art around gatherings and crafting images from her soul. She is an observer of environments, a documentarian of experiences, and an artist in relentless pursuit of where the two intersect.

An introvert with a global upbringing, Margaret has a unique perspective and an unparalleled artistic vision—influenced by photojournalism. And today, she lives an art-is-everywhere lifestyle as a digital nomad—chasing cinematic locations and the human beings that invite her in.

TESTIMONIALS

  • “I can't speak highly enough about this community. It's essential to begin by acknowledging the founders, Margaret and Caitlin, who have built this space with incredible intentionality, warmth, and openness. It’s evident that the positive energy they radiate has drawn together so many like-minded, talented, and generous artists. For me, the community arrived at a crucial time when I was deep in the process of building my business and finding my way as an artist . Being able to tap into the experience, confidence, and insights of such skilled photographers, both technically and artistically, has been invaluable. I am so excited to see how this community continues to grow and flourish.”

  • "Joining Gather Around Film has been one of the best decisions I've made as an artist. Working as a freelancer can often feel isolating, but this space has provided a community to connect with fellow film photographers and grow together. The wealth of resources available, combined with the opportunity to learn from others and develop my craft, has been invaluable. Whether it's sharing experiences, seeking advice, or simply being around people who understand the highs and lows of working as an analog artist, Gather Around Film has truly become a creative haven for me. I'm incredibly grateful for the support and inspiration I've found here."

  • "I'm only just dipping my feet into the wild world of wedding photography, and I really cannot overstate how much Gather Around Film has helped me find my footing here. The ability to hear about other artists' processes, to ask questions of some of the best photographers in the biz, and to just have a place to figure out basic business practices has been so helpful, especially as someone who is used to DIYing my life and is looking to take my craft and business up a few steps into professionalism. Gather Around Film has given me so much more confidence in my work, as well as a necessary feeling of community. Everyone is rooting for each other in Gather Around Film, and that's just magical! Plus, the work coming out of this collective is just gorgeous, and these artists inspire me everyday. Gather Around Film has added so much to my art-making process."

MEET AUTUMN

Artist Curator

Autumn Jordan is a film photographer based in New York, working primarily on medium and large format. With a BFA in Film Photography from Bennington College and over 15 years of experience, her work is rooted in emotional attentiveness and a quiet reverence for the present moment. The heart of her work is often found in the in-between: the soft, unspoken gestures that shape how we offer reverence for love, place, and time.

When not documenting weddings, lovers, or humans doing what they love, Autumn shares her passion for large format photography through in-person gatherings and mentorship. She’s deeply committed to helping other photographers embrace slower, more intentional ways of seeing and creating.
